Referring to Freundlich's interest in gravitational light deflection and expressing particular interest in his plan to observe stars that are close to the sun during daytime. Sharing some thoughts on how this could work on the photographic plates and possible difficulties. Expressing great interest in the results of the research on double stars, because they could affect his theory of relativity. Looking forward to meeting Freundlich and his wife during their honeymoon (which they have planned to spend in Switzerland). Mentioning that he will be in Zurich until mid-September, except on September 7 and 8, when he will be in Frauenfeld to deliver a lecture. Thanking Freundlich for his congratulations (on Einstein's election to membership in the Prussian Academy of Sciences). With several penciled formulas and graphs on p. 4.
